morning folks,

hoping theres a e30 guru or two on here today.

went to look at another e30 (325i) yesterday with a view to buying it,
gave the whole car a good going over (over 2 hours), found hardly any rust in it but did find one thing thats got me stumped.

it's on the engine block, when checking the engine over i noticed that there where no engine id numbers anywhere on the block aside from one set i've never seen before.

near the top of the block between cylinders 5 & 6 it was stamped "11M87" :?

now i've been around e30's for about 16/16yr's & in all that time i've never seen an m20 stamped with this number,

it could be something it could be nothing i don't know, just never seen it before & was wondering if anyone else had.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

thats what i'm thinking, will see if there is any history/paperwork with the car & see if there's anything in there.
