I don't often feel like a grumble, but I was looking for a replacement top radiator plastic mount as one of the threaded sockets, which is plastic, has stripped out on mine.

I punched in the part number 17111709347 and was surprised to find that I could buy a second hand one from the UK for €40 and various others in the US and around Europe from around €12 - €50.

My handy OEM dealer here in Germany, Leebmann24, will knock me one out for seven euro's and nine cents - and that's new, not some stripped out rotten old grubby item.

OK, that's it, back to watching my pot boil, which is taking forever for some reason.

Same with a lot of parts. I'm aware of a number of traders over the years that have bought new from BMW and sold for massively inflated prices online. Good job you were wise enough to check with your local dealer :)

Now a days it pays to ask the main dealer especially on here ,. some prices you see on Ebay do make your eyes water , "rare" Mtech 2 parts being a good example

Clips and fasteners are a big rip off but carry on until the end of the listing and you could even buy a box load for not much more.

I use a local fastener shop for most nuts and bolts, only the non standard stuff would make me call a dealer.

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

https://www.fmw-tuning.de/bmw/3er-e30/

yes it's in Europe but they carry quite a few parts & the prices are pretty good.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

also, i do the same as colin (topblag) & use a local fastener shop for most nuts/bolts/clips, 9 times out 10 they've got what i want at a fraction of what the dealer/ebay charge.

plus it helps keep small local shop open.

I need to get some genuine sport parts up on eBay before the sport bubble bursts - I’ve got genuine sport ashtrays, centre console sets, glove boxes, door seals, window switches etc......

.....you'd think the bloke would clean that tool tray up a bit to encourage wallet opening.... a new one is 42 quid from Pelican, although I guess the shipping would be astronomical.

Same here , a great shop nearby by to me both helpful and cheap so it works both ways although I don't suppose what I spend there will make him a wealthy man

A lot to pay for a recovered steering wheel.

Yes, I have blue and black coin holders and my H35 has a pull down map light located on the pillar behind the pass seat.

No fuel canisters, they,re pointless IMO.

Rarest thing I have is a a set of H35 sideskirts and wheel arches - new and unused.

Booger, you can still get the reading light for 25 euro's - great for blinding yourself when driving and slurping coffee with your cup holder in place.

And if you look closely the rear bench is just a cabrio bench so nothing special really. No-one bought it when it was £1000 don't know why he thinks it will sell better at 3x the price 8O

good spot on those clips, could come in handy :D
