Gaz Rear Coilover Spring snapped

Was getting a banging noise and scrapping like the wheel was catching against the coilover from the driver rear wheel decided to inspection low and behold i took the wheel off and spring looked bent turned it around and it had a clean break through it Snapped. ....this is the second time this has happened with Gaz springs will be contacting them tomorrow anyone else ever have a spring snap on a coilover? it is not tracked just normal road use and only prob 1000miles over the 4years they been on.

I've never had an OE spring snap.
