So, how many recent V8 swaps are there on here?

Got a few questions if you don't mind :D

1. How did you get around the brake servo in your swap?
2. Has anyone used gearbox adapter spacer and a diesel gearbox (and what prop did you use)
3. Most importantly: Whats it like to drive, does it feel pretty OEM and was it worth the conversion???
Really been thinking about this a lot recently but theres 2 thinks that scare me, how rare manual V8 gearboxes are (so i don't have to use any dogy gearbox cradles) and how to deal with the master cyl clearance thing...

Cheers :)

Is that a rover V8 in your P38?? I had a mate a long time ago who had an overfinch one, such a beast!

Yes, the 4.6, though currently running compression tests to establish why my oil pressure light is on and I have all the power of a mobility scooter :?

The Overfinch, indeed, an animal, didn't they swap out the Rover for a 6 Litre GM V8?

Oh god, not good! I hope its just something electrical and not something mechanical (or expensive!)

Ah i didn't know that, i always thought it was a fiddled rover/buick engine

I would like to think so, though it's P38, things generally are fixable but not often easy or cheap!

Found this badboy... 6.3 Overfinch..

Imagine that in an E30! There is someone I read about, i will try to find out where, who fitted I think a small block chevrolet into an E30..

Quite right an intesting mix, I could live with the colours, but carbon fibre, fake or real is low rent! An Overfinch is the "M3" of Range Rovers, though a mate has an L322 Overfinch but it only has a 3 litre V6 diesel which in my mind is not quite right, Overfinch = big ass V8 in my book, not that i am likely to ever afford one!

Not sure about the E30, I don't think it was ever on here I just happened upon it watching Car Throttle channel on Youtube, there are a few members who have done V8s, V12's etc member Glenn being one of them.

Mine is far from done, but I went with a 2.8 Z3 ZF box which is identical to the V8 5 speed in all bar the bellhousing and then used an adaptor from PMC motorsport to mount it.

The brake servo i plan to pull into the cabin, leaving just the master cylinder in the engine bay.
