BMW ones aren't too expensive, but they are closed today.

Halfords do Champion ones, maybe get one of those?

The quality of the oil is the main thing, but you don't want to use a crap oil filter, it could let sh*t through. I don't know enough about this though, or which brands are good/bad.

Anyone? I'd be interested to know.

I wouldn't bother with a Ԛ£30 Gay&N one.

I'd go BMW, or Champion filter from Halfords if you want one today!

I was told once that halfords own brand ones are made in the same factory as champion....

That german brand beggining with H (Hengts or something) I think are one of the original bmw suppliers. You can get them from ECP or GSF

If your near wembely the ECP is open on sunday

ECP close at 2 though lol the catford one also open on sunday...

anyway tbh went into halfords, they dont have their own brand,, just a champion one,, the oil is synthetic, and is good shit, so shouldnt be a bigbig deal...

cheers anyway for the input :)

I changed my oil and filter today - I got a halfords own brand one (the one on there before was halfords too). It was all going so well until i went to remove the old oil filter - it took me two hours to get it off! I had to resort to driving a screwdriver through it with a hammer before it finally came off. let me know how yours went.

Well they have more filter layers and use synthetic materials for filtering thus lasting longer, many filters are very poor quality and break down in the heat of the oil. Porsche have managed to increase the oil service intervals of their new lines of cars to 15k from using fully synthetic oil filters.

I change my filter every 2500-3000 miles and my oil 5000-6000 miles depending on how hard ive been driving the car.
So for every oil change do a filter change in between.
