My Baur had one of these on when I got her but has no more.
Why did these things exist as my other (now late) 316 did not and the heating was splendid in that one ?
I have a chance to buy one so if it`s neccesary , then I will do.
Any ideas please?
Mart.

My E39 has one, which enables the heater to pull the last dregs of heat out of the engine after it has stopped. Don't know if that's the only purpose it has.
They are also useful on cars with water cooling to the turbo for similar reasons, but I'm struggling to find a purpose for one on a standard E30 engine.
Did the one on the Baur look like it belonged there?

Yes it did, proper mounting and harness too, the mind boggles.Brianmoooore wrote:Did the one on the Baur look like it belonged there?
So it`s safe to say that I don`t really need it then ?
