On the driver's side the under dash panel has a plastic grill inset into it, and plastic clips that would clearly hold a rectangular object up against it on the inside. Just out of curiosity, what is that for?

No, I have an OBC and it does it's own dinging.

In that case someone has fitted the bonger in the wrong place.ChrisHC wrote:No, I have an OBC and it does it's own dinging.
The small grill in that panel is where it should be.

All I have is a little peeper between the OBC and the heater temperature control.
If I only have a little peeper while other people have big bongers my life is ruined!

Right, so I am missing a gong which should operate with the OBC. What should the little peeper do? All mine ever does is peep three times when I turn off the ignition, which is not at all useful and actually slightly irritating.

Sure that's not coming from the radio? I used to have a radio that did that when the ignition is turned off, and yes, it was slightly irritating. It's supposed to be a reminder to remove the radio face and take it with you.ChrisHC wrote: All mine ever does is peep three times when I turn off the ignition, which is not at all useful and actually slightly irritating.

I suppose it could be, that never occurred to me. I will listen more carefully.Brianmoooore wrote:Sure that's not coming from the radio? If so, what is the function of the thing between the OBC and the heater control, is it in fact a peeper at all?

It's where the temperature sensor would be if the (very rare) climate control system was fitted.

The under dash panel actually needs a piece cut out to fix the "bonger". Many people don't do this, and leave the bonger lying inside the panel....?

Think it was always old Sony headunits that did that, never knew the reasoning behind it.Brianmoooore wrote:Sure that's not coming from the radio? It's to remind you to take off the removable fascia for security.
