Are you going to try to repair your frame in situ? As it might be a cheaper option to source a complete roof.

Photos of your frame and the damage would help.

I can't visualise the part, would you need to remove the mohair roof and the tension straps to fit this part or will it slide in to place?

i did try to add a photo of the frame but as normal for me big fail . the hoop on the bottom of the roof just under the rear window is the part that's failed it holds the roof flush with the horseshoe so would need to undo the tension straps and bottom of the roof itself . welding it in the car would just set light to everything but as its failed before its going to happen again

Ah the bit you hold onto and lift to help fold the roof, will have to check mine over the weekend as I would have though that it would be sod of a job to do as its attached to the mohair.

In what condition is the rest of the roof?

the roof is only a few years old so in very good condition , and as you say its going to be a sod of a job trying to reweld an old repair and it would only last so long , if it was a straight bar it would have been easy to make one but as its shaped not so easy , did look online for a replacement but you can only buy the complete frame for 2400 euro cheap at half the price , will keep at it something will show up

Shame I bought a complete roof with frame a few years back for under £500 and gave away my old one.

If I pm you my email address can you send me some photos?
