If you were looking for a 325i Sport and found 2 that were both in very good condition and almost identical except one had lower mileage & was an Auto. Which one would you go for and why?

I would personally go for the manual, because i like the better control and selection over the gears. although i would not turn down an auto if it was the only one on offer,
The other reason would be cost's.

Manual every time for me .
I like the driver involvement with a manual g/box coupled to the LSD of the sport, and the manual is definatly more fun.
Autos are impossible in the snow as well.
I didn't think they made sports in auto either ?
Just what i was told when i was looking for one about 5 years back
cheers

No comparison... Manual everytime...
Why go for a 'sports' car which is auto... Manual gives the driver ultimate control, the only way to be...

Nothing wrong with a nice auto if looked after and the fluid changed. They are also much stronger then a manual box.
I suppose at the end of the day everybody to there own,but dont let an auto put you of.
Cheers

Go for the auto, if it bothers you after owning it for a while get a manual conversion done with the money saved over buying a manual and your laughing!
Andy, 325i sport was available in auto, it was an extra Ԛ£1400, as the EH box was the only auto available for the sport, if you find a non EH box sport, it's not genuine.

gearboxes are strong on both, the Auto is gonna be a little slower than the manual plus as some people pointed out mroe driver control with the manual, MPG is a little better with a manual compared to an auto and as far as I know the 325i's in auto form do come in sports version.
