Hi all
Just wondering what you think of the make Topran?

This is the only make I can find. Unless someone knows of a website selling the bosch ones?

Cheers and have a good new years

Topran isn't a make as such, but a brand name used by a company which sources parts from where ever it can, all over the world, and sells them on in a Topran box.
Cost will be a major factor as to where the parts are sourced from, so consequentially the quality isn't likely to be the best.
E30 heater motors can almost always be brought back to full working order (if you follow the instructions I've posted on here many times), but if yours turns out to be one of the few that can't, they a second hand one would be the best way to go, which can then be reconditioned before fitting.

Mine sounds like a helicopter. Like the bearings have gone.

Bearings are usually clogged with 30 year old hardened oil rather than worn.
Need to remove motor from car, power up from a battery in your hand, spray WD40 or similar into bearings, power up with shaft vertical, first one way up then the other. Repeat until totally free.
Dry off WD40, apply light oil (3 in 1 or similar), power up with shaft vertical, invert, add oil, repeat untill bearings thoroughly oiled.
Helicopter sound could be as simple as something caught in the fan blades, but all E30 motors need the treatment above if they are the original untouched motor.

original motor on my car was completely shagged-was also making helicopter noises which was blades rubbing on plastic casing because shaft-bearings were worn to nothing.

a £40 2nd hand motor re-lubed as above was preferable to a brand-new junk one.

Defo, Thats what I thought with mine turn it off and still mades the sound on the slow down. New or second hand one it it then.

I'll keep the offers in mind. Might just go for the new motor as they are not silly money for new. BMW wanted 400 lol
