I've been offered a late model Cabby for good money, I may have to sell my 325iA 4 door to fund it. Are the Convertibles a more desirable car? Any pitfalls to buying one? Does the roof leak etc.
Thanks Mike.
Should I sell my 4 door to buy a Cabby?

I'd keep the 4 door. The Cabrios are noiser, wobble a little, creak and rattle a bit more and the roof leaks a little bit. Unless you live in the South of France then your roof down days are pretty few and far between.

It surely depends how you use the car, if it is your only car and will live outside the saloon is a much better bet, if you have another car and the cabby will be garaged go for the swap, somewhere in between, then you have to balance things.

If it's a second car get the cabby, sure they rattle a little but on a warm summers day very little beats an E30 6pot cabby imo..

Think about it rationally:
The 4 door will never need a new roof.
The 4 door won't need a new rear screen because it's gone milky.
The 4 door won't wobble and vibrate (as much).
The 4 door won't leak (as much).
But most importantly, you'll look gay in a cab' and super gay if you're with a male passenger
