Hello!
Can anyone tell me if there is a product on the market that can dye the colour of leather?? as i have found an m3 rear bench, but its cream not black...

welcome mate :D

i think there are dyes to cover up light scratches etc

but to colour one from cream to black 8O

i think your probably better off looking for a black one mate :wink:

you can get colonising coulour/dye in a spray can, did a set for a mate from grey to black.

any good paint shop could point you in the right direction

anything is possibe, the words, not possible, cant be done, wont fit, impossible do not exist when it comes to cars!!

Personally, I wouldn't want to use that stuff on leather (might well be perfect for vinyl doorcards though!).

If you have a look on leatherique.com, they sell products to change the colour of the leather rather than just covering it up. That involves a lot more work though - essentially you're taking the coating off of the leather & then re-applying it. Guess it probably doesn't matter much on a back seat that's not going to be sat on very often though...

there used to be a solution that was supplied to the footwear repair trade(cobblers) that would wipe the colour off the leather and leave it what they call natural and it then could be dyed the appropriate colour.

I will check and let you know when I get back home(next week) as the people i used to get it from are still in business.

Glyptone will match your dye for you if you send thm a piece of leather

I just bought some black dye off ebay to make my m3 black leather mint.(hopefully) I will let you know how it works after using it.(may not be for a few weeks though!)
