I've just had a machanic put a dianostic tool on my car and it came up with faulty EKP relay.What us a EKP relay?

looks to be the fuel pump relay.

Fuel pump in German is something like Kraftstoffpompe, so something abbreviated KP is likely to be the pump relay, but what I don't believe is that there is anything wrong with yours that the ECU is capable of picking up.
As with all stored codes, they need to be noted, cleared, and then wait to see if they come back again.
