Hi
Can someone shed some light on this for me please. I m thinking about upgrading my front lights to Angel eye so today I thought I d tinker around with the light to figure out how to fit the lights before they arrive.
After removing the plastic cover behind the front lights I found this peice just sitting there it's the same on both side. Seem to be out of place, I think it's got something to with my fog lights as they don't work at the minute & its the same white cable which run from my fog light switch under the steering wheel, could be wrong.
I also have the same part already attached to the lights but the cable on that is cut??
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS??

Would the manual actuators simply be the same part without the wire then...Cloggy Saint wrote:Angel eyes, upgrade??![]()
The actuators should be attached to the outer lights. If you're lucky they've been replaced with manual adjustors and can just be cut off.
I ve got 2 hooked up each side to the lights already with the wires cut.
I m assuming that these actuator are more headache then they are worth so people switch to manual

The hydraulic actuators work fine as manual adjusters even if they have failed. The knurled plastic ring around the body is a fine adjuster, and the threaded steel bar with the ball on the end is a coarse adjuster.
If the hydraulics have failed, the fine adjuster will not have quite enough range to raise the lights high enough to satisfy the UK MOT test, so the coarse adjuster needs to be screwed out about four turns before setting the beam aim.
Check that the actuators with the pipes attached aren't actually in working order before you cut anything. They have recently become NLA from BMW, so a working system is beginning to have value.
On the taste front, it's your car to do with what you like, but angel eyes???

Acuators do have the pipes still connected. Now I know what they are I ll try the system to see if it works. My aim with my e30 is to fit as many optional extra as possible but only original extras that would of come straight out the factory, heated seat, heated jet & locks for example. At the same time trying to give the car a modern look with angel eyes..,I want to keep the car original mostly with a few modern twist without ruining the car with too much aftermarket crap.
Guess this would nt be the right time to tell you about my BBS alloy dilemma
