Hi,

Just bought a e30 325i and wanted to carry out a full service myself and change the cam belt....any ideas/advice/help or even videos on you tube anyone would recommend to follow?

Bought the car as a project so want to do most of the work myself!

Look forward to hearing from all.

welcome Pinda.

As a start, click on the e30 Wiki Read and just get familiar with the excellent collection of knowledge.
Andyboys e30 Restoration bible is also a good source of information

Replace the tensioner and the belt, also consider doing the water pump (for good measure0.

As its a project I would almost be tempted to suggest you whip the head off and do the gasket whilst at it and get it pressure tested.

just my 2 cents.

Full service would also include oil, plugs and air filter. Clean the throttle body, icv and rubber boot while the airbox is off and check for split hoses. Valve clearances are also worth doing. If you have difficulty doing these then I wouldn't attempt the cambelt on your own. If you do the cambelt use blue coolant not the pink stuff.
