Im interested in buying it but not sure what its worth!!

Heres the spec....

BMW 325i Sport
113000 miles
1988 - E plate
Dolphin Grey

ABS
Full closure alarm
Scorpion Zorst

17" alloys

Its ideal for what im looking for but not sure how much to offer him! Should a car made in Jan 1988 have the M Tech kit as standard or would he have fitted it himself?

Any advice would be great!!

Cheers

It can't be a genuine Sport on an E plate with an M-Tech II kit. The Pre-facelift Sports with M-Tech I were made D/E plate and the post facelift F onwards.

I'd assume that this was a post facelift 325i with an M-Tech II kit fitted at a later date.

Alternatively i could be entirely wrong and you could just make certain by getting the last 7 digits of the VIN and getting an original build spec from your local dealer. This'll tell you for definite what the car is.

This isn't a pre-facelift car anyway... it has the later rear lights.

I think you could JUST get an E plate phase 2 Sport... JUST!

My first Sport was a chrome bumper '87 on an E plate...

Wheels and suspension shouldn't make a difference on price, unless it's a shit-hot coilover system.

I paid Ԛ£3k for mine in December, completely standard apart from a sound system and a Pipercross filter and pressure regulator.

Ԛ£3k is where I'd expect to find some REALLY nice ones. Any higher and you want to be expecting absolutley MINT ones.

But, as is always said, a car is worth what someone is willing paying for it. Be cheeky and offer Ԛ£2750 for it... see what he says. Why is it up for sale? Has he got the original wing mirrors to go with it... and the original wheels?

Just personal views from me... s'all.

Giles.

yeah i see where your coming from regarding the wheels etc.... Ive been out of the E30 car market for a few years! I paid Ԛ£5k for my last 325i sport years ago so 3k is cheap for me!!

Im going to try and get up there tomorrow evening and see it if i can before ebay ends!

According to the Collector's guide BMW 3 series by Jeremy Walton there were no 325i sports (as in M-tech II's) registered in 1988, because of the change in bodykit.
This is what I think Bob is referring too....

Had a response from the seller, and he said it's got cream headlining...so it ain't a sport.

I'd value it at 2-2.5k, that's if it's in top notch condition, otherwise about 1.5k.

I would imagine the car is not in mint condition, as he doesn't mention any faults in the auction, and modifications obviously detract from the value too.
