The servo of my M3 is rusty in places and the master cylinder needs new seals and a clean.
I removed the concertina plastic boot after having looked at the ETK drawing and expected to see some kinda air filter underneath , but nothing. Peering down where the push rod exits, you can see a foam like substance that seems disintegrated.
The back of the servo has a metal sealing cap covering it , but which doesn't seem to show up as any part in the ETK.

So is the foam like substance the air filter that is under this cap ? I was reluctant to try and remove the cap as it doesn't seem available.
Thanks

The gasket between the servo and bulkhead is made of foam so it's probably the remains of that.

Can't be. This is under the rubber boot and right down into the servo and a different colour material to the gasket I removed.
