Hi,
i have 91 318i convertible and it needs a new steering rack, can anyone suggest where would be a good place to purchase one?
i have been offered a second hand one for £40 but i would rather buy new/recon so i can put it on and forget about it!
Thanks
Chris

I would upgrade to an e36/46/z3 rack while you are at it. I picked a reconditioned z3 rack off the eBay

Hi
sorry to hijack the thread but just a quick question when you upgrade the rack is it straight bolt off bolt on or do you have to do some modifications e.g 325i sport to fit an e46 purple tag rack?
Cheers

Rack conversion is not a £60 job like the facefook users would have you believe, expect to spend around £300 in quality parts, it is by far one of the best upgrades you can do to an E30 though 8)

I'll be buying another set of lines etc from you soon enough Dan. The gnarly bump steer induced by the Impreza quick rack fitted to my daily is getting tiresome. You do lines to work with an m30 right?

It doesn't and it's a poor choice of rack to upgrade to
