Car caught me out again yesterday, I turned a corner sharply and the back end came out. I'm not used to this as my other cars have traction control etc. I'm fitting my 15" BBS wheels soon, can anyone recommend some tyres please.
I'm going for 205/50 15's as I'm lowering the gearing a bit.
Toyo's quite cheap £170 for 4 from Demon Tweeks.
These E30's are a bit tail happy, recommended tyres for grip?

always a tricky question... depends how much you want to spend, what tyres come in your size and if you ever want to take the car on track.
Also curious to see what everyone else recommends! heard a few people hating on the toyo's, mainly due to wear I think.. but never had any myself.
I spent ages reading reviews, trying to pick a good sporty road only tyre but the search narrowed down considerably based on what my local fitters could get in for our size. I have gone for Dunlop Sport- Fastresponse. not too squishy in the dry and safe in the wet - £280 fitted.

assuming its a 2.5? suspension/bushes and an lsd play a bit part in the handling and keeping things nice and tight,
Ive got brigestone adrenaline RE002, without a doubt the best tyre ive ever had, my brakes failed on nurburg coming in at a corner about a 100, dropped it into 4th and steered it in, was a fairly sharp right hander, but it just went around, some tyre squeal but that was it, when i first put them on for the first few hundred miles, i coudnt break traction and burn them out it would just bunny hop along and it shoot off
wet grip is also outstanding!

I really wanted those RE002 too! Sounds like a great choice . Seems Bridgestone has brought out an RE003 and isn't providing (my local place) with the RE002 now.

Bridgestone adrenaline RE002 here too. I've not done many miles on them, but there was a huge improvement in grip over the goodyears they replaced. Not that expensive either, and they have a cool (all things are relative!) tread pattern

Bridgestone user on the Fabia. Wear v grip v price, they are very hard to beat.
As for E30s being tail happy...perhaps but IMO it's more that they just don't let you get away with things that modern cars do. Aggressive throttle/steering inputs, mid corner lift-off, declutching with the wheel turned...all these things are bad habits that any front driver or modern rear driver with traction control etc will let you get away with. Keep things smooth and you won't have a prob
