Hi guys im looking to get a cabby or coupe and doing a conversion using fibreglass kit, can you guys help out with pics of your ones so i can get a idea of looks and fitment :)

Which kit are you looking at using?

I've been speaking to a polish chap about one for my track car.

The kit I am looking at is a complete replacement for the quarter panel, from doorshut to cill, then right the way back to the top of the boot area. Other kits I have seen are little more than arches and need mucho bodging with fibreglass and filler to stick them to the existing arches.

How would these kits last in the long term, from experience, fibreglass will never bond to metal, in the short term yes, bit over time it will peel away.

The guy is on the e30 zone Facebook. His name is Pawel Wierzbicki.

Roger, the only metal to fibreglass transition will be the C pillar. I've spoken to Fowler about it and he recommends using a filler and fibreglass mix which stops the cracking. I've managed to procure a tub of kevlar strands that is meant to be even better.

The rest attaches basically where the standard spot welds for the rear 3/4 go. I'll be using a panel adhesive, that won't fail.

My car has a full 18 point roll cage. I wouldn't be doing this on a road car without one mind

Ah, I'd imagined a mass of fibreglass slapped everywhere. Thanks for the explanation..

This will give you a better idea. The C pillar will be covered with the extension anyway and I imagine the B pillar trim will cover the join too so even if it cracks, it's not the end of the world.
