Glove Box light question

What should the glove box light look like?
Mine is a weird switch and bulb combination thingy?
There is no plastic cover like the interior light.
The light just seems to light up behind the dash and
not really the glove box?
Mr Bodger strikes again?

No, that's exactly how it should be on a RH drive E30.
Never leave the holder without a bulb fitted - the contacts can short together and blow your indicator fuse.

Thanks, I was more worried about the bare bulb touching a wire and melting it.
