Seems after years of everyone saying it's not available, BMW had a stash of the genuine tools all along.
Although, since AlexM3 posted it on S14.net yesterday with 91 available in Germany, it seems this morning its down to 31 available before it really does goes NLA.

I expect most of them will have been bought to sell on at a huge profit.
Bmw want £40 for them, he's also selling a sport evo kidney grill for over twice what bmw want.

The Internet - It has proven to be worthless, and is nothing but a repository for perverts.

These 'new ones' aren't quite the same as the original M3 part. Hope no one paid over the odds and feels ripped off.

As most people buying them have nothing to compare it to, I doubt it.

It's fundamentally the same thing, but what it doesn't appear to be is a batch of old stock of what was originally part of an M3 tool kit. It seems old stock for something else, but not an M3. I guess it depends how pedantic you want to be.
For the £31 it cost to replace my original broken one, it's a nice thing to complete my tool kit. Others can decide if paying 7 times the price is worth it and selling it as an M3 original is accurate.
Thank you to Alex for making people aware a similar replacement was available at sensible money.

There are very minor differences but none that would concern anybody but the saddest OCD paedo type. Strangely , they even have 'Made in West Germany' on them.

I believe the original M3 part is as per this pic.

Thanks , Alex. Had no idea those Sport Evo grilles were so cheap. To think I almost bought one at 100% mark up on dealer price.
