When restoring an E30 to a high standard, what parts should be replaced? The car will go back to bare metal with all the rust addressed.
The items I have in mind are:
New headlights
New front grill
New front wings
Replace all reservoir (coolant etc)
Replace all hoses
Replace rubber trims?
sandblast & powder coat suspension parts
New suspension (spring & shocks)
Replace all bushes
New discs/pads
New wheel bearings
New fuel lines
New brake pipes
New belts (including cambelt)
New water pump
New clutch
Refurb LSD
Is there anything else that should be replaced or are there any items above that are no longer available?
Thanks in advance.

I got fuel lines two weeks ago...
About 80 for both for the 325.

There are many more things on the mechanical side to worry about just to make it not feel tired ignoring the shiny paint side of things.
Prop shaft rear joint
Gbox selector linkage
Injector clean
Check clean and/or replace most of the sensors
Check all the wiring for damage
Replace the pressed steel timing pulleys if M20
Brake calliper sliders
Hand brake internals
New radiator
Probably many more...

Thanks for your advice, looks like it will be a never ending list.
I want to concentrate on the items that are best to replace whilst the shell is bare. I suppose some items can be replaced easily at a later stage.

Can you give more detail about this, please.HairyScreech wrote:There are many more things on the mechanical side to worry about just to make it not feel tired ignoring the shiny paint side of things.
