I've done mine in Polaris Silver (#060) from Halfords roughly £15 a can. Looks pretty good.
Searched quite a few forums online, majority suggested it.

Bollox! I've bought Ford Polaris! Thought it was a bit dark!
Can't see it on Halfords Website?
Do you have to get it mixed by them?

Mercedes 744 silver is a gem for wheels, that's the silver just about every merc was in the late 90s to mid 00s it's not very metallic and wheels as standard are normally very metallic

Yes Halfords make it when you go in, you have to let them know car manufacturer and paint code. From what I hear not all their stores make custom paints. I went to one in Oldbury, West Midlands.

Just use a generic alloy wheel silver from a local motor factors. My E30 is Polaris and when I was painting the floor pan that's what I used and you could hardly see a difference.

Hi, I have painted 1 wheel with the Halfords stuff and it looks ok.
I have ordered 4 x new Centre Caps from Cotswold(cost more than the wheels!)
so I will wait until they arrive and compare the colour.
I found a place called HS Autopaint in Manchester who will do 400ml of
Polaris for £8.95.
