Im a stickler for my cars being standard and as they should be. My car does not have original floor mats in it which annoys me.

1.) Can you still purchase mats from the dealer?
2.) Did BMW ever do Rubber mats for the E30 or was it just carpet mats?
3.) Ive read on a few forums that BMW 1 Series Coupe rubber mats fit well, and judging by below they do look good, has anyone ever tried this, thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Kind Regards

1: No. NLA for a long time.
2: I'm pretty sure they didnt, if they did they were early cars.
3: Looks ok, but not an E30, so therefore an invalid acquisition. Decent original mats come up every so often.. including on here. So hold out for the real mccoy. Maybe put a wanted ad up.

Rubber mats were available for all E30's throughout production.

Mitchen, you're slacking!

P.S, I have a pair of genuine rubber mats in my M3 at present for the inclement weather.

My bad.. wasn't too sure as you don't see them often. However I did see them in your M3 footwells.. just assumed since it isn't timewarp, you'd let all sorts of odds and sods in there along with the Grundig stereo :)

I'll be passing by B trim next week, I'll check their samples of carpet and see if I can find a match

They'll be able to make them with an original for a template, the only issue is the binding will not be as per OEM, but a nice leather binding will suffice

This is what I did with a set of mats for my e24

I also managed to find some new OEM mats for the e24, they are staying in the packaging :D
