These would be machined out of the same aluminium we use for our medical stuff.
I was thinking of leaving a lug of about 6mm on the rear(for manufacturing reasons and also for two tapped holes to fasten it on the grill) .
The badge will be about 4mm thick and if I can get a few people interested I will sort it out at work.
I did contact Hartge a few years ago and they said they would not object.
Now, how much are people willing to pay for a bespoke realistic badge ??
I don't want to make a bean from this but would just love to machine these and see the end result, let me know how much and I will try and push this through.
Cheers Mart.

Very difficult to come by. I found mine fitted to a e36 328i sport on pistonheads classifieds. I emailed the seller to ask if he'd remove it and sell it. He wouldn't entertain it at first and directed me to eBay, but once I explained the fact I had an e30 hartge, and I was looking for an original he agreed and took it off for mesteve_k wrote:all i can find at the moment is the later type on ebay from china.Simon wrote:I paid £40 for my original boot badge, but I think they'd be worth a fair bit more now.

Good response so far but the question still is , how much do I have to play with when I sit down and say to my firm, "This is what I want to put through the books".
This will come off my wage , which is not a problem but you also need to know the final price so help me out please.
Lets stick with the grille badge first please.

Lets stick with the grille badge first please and don't forget this will be a major leap forward from the original badge.

I don't understand what you need, surely if you produce 1, you will understand the costs, add your margin and then you have a price. Working from a predefined budget doesn't make sense as there is a quality level to reach, which is the badge you are copying.

Hi,
I`ve been a bit Pre occupied with the 330 but I have spoken to the "Master" at work and all can be done and to a VERY good quality indeed !!!
To manufacture a "one off " will cost a lot more money than the price per item than a 20 off so that will only give me a guide .
I can say at this moment that the price would be @ £80 delivered.
Let me make one and send it to one of you guy`s first , this is in my time and no cost`s occurred. Weekend work etc.
I would love to see this go ahead because I know the quality will be the best.
Mart.

Looking forward to the prototype you produce!

I have spoken to the "Master" again and the material for the first batch should come for free from off cuts . These are bits which are still very good quality but we can not give a certificate of conformity to our customers which is needed in the medical business.
Also as they are car buffs ,and they can give me a very good rate so I will push this one next week and see what comes of it, and so will take the price down a fair bit too.
I will have a hand finishing department to run their eyes across them if needed and these guys are second to none and I mean that!
I`ll make 12 at first with preference to the Zone guys as long as you use them yourself. lol. So roll on next week and I will try and get them drawn up and programed and hopefully a slot in production.

I'd like to suggest that first choice should go to those with Hartge cars that need them, but that's the vendors choice.
