TRW Tie Rod Ends

Anyone had any experience?

Ordered Lemforder and got sent these.. Got them from cp4l, so returning isn't as simple as walking into the local ECP.

Send them back and order 605110105 lemforder complete track rod. About £50 the pair.

Does CP4L have any branches anywhere?? Can I take returns to an ECP branch?? Anything other than the palaver listed on the returns process

Haha touche! They know better than to use Hermes at this time of year.. They paid a premium and delivered with DHL

Yes that is for one track rod. You need a pair.

I fitted a TRW suspension arm on a E60 earlier on in the year (it's all they had at the time) and I've just replaced it for a lemforder item under warranty. So from that experience I'd avoid TRW.

I bought the Lemforder parts from Euro's - not even sodding painted !

Comes up fine for me! £34.65, less the usual discounts if you make the order up to £50, £75 or £100.

Bare metal or a black coating?

If they are bare metal then they are not Lemforder, they are Q-drive!

Lemforder ones come in a black coating as per genuine BMW parts.

Bare metal, ordered on the same p/n you qoted and stampped with the Lemforder logo on the underside of the balljoint and a covering boot with Lemforder logo and arrived in a Lemforder box with that p/n.
I assumed they had cut costs and now didn't bother to paint, which pissed me off a little.

Well so they do!

This must be a recent thing as every one I've ordered has come with a black coating

Cheaper Q-Drive have always been bare metal.

I'd say that's actually a blessing in disguise, means only a quick acid etch and some proper decent quality paint can go onto them that will last and no adhesion problems from the oem paint.

Bang some epoxy paint on there and you could park it in sea water without them rusting.

I am going to paint before fitting. So anything that comes in a spray can that fits the bill ?
