Anyone using these ? They seem good value as SKF is a good brand and much used by BMW.

Hello BMG, page loads but no info, in my line of work, I used bearings of all brands/sizes/types and SKF is one of the best, if its good value and BMW use it, that's good enough for me. cheers.

Sorry, should have checked the link. For some reason it is shortening it and missing the last part.
Anyway, it's SKF part number VKJC 1148 at £73 each

Not sure I follow. You mean the Mr Auto site ? They show SKF brand in stock at £73 each.
Was wondering if anyone has fitted them or any thought before I maybe buy.
Thanks

I thought gkn had stopped producing the joints and all shafts were now remanufactured items?

Could be wrong though as the compact and Z3 use the same joints, it would leave an awful lot of cars out in the rain.

I haven't yet. I found a link to a German E30 site which seemed to be saying Mister Auto keeps advertising these at a tempting price and then cancels on you saying they are not available.
Also on the same site, there is talk about a dimension difference and alignment of the ABS ring.

I pulled my driveshafts apart the other day and got the cap of the outer CV joint in a way I could reuse it ( they don't seem available to buy ) and re-crimp it if needed. There was less wear than I was expecting. If anything, it is the inner joints that show the most wear, so now thinking of just replacing those and cleaning up the rest.
