Does a E36 sunroof cassette fit an E30 roof skin ?

Hi , my sunroof cassette is missing and I keep viewing scrap E30 with rotten cassettes . Does any one know if the later E36 cassette will fit/work on my roof skin ? There are plenty E36 in breakers I am led to believe . Thanks
