90 e30 2 door - rust bubbling on roof

As per the title, I have had my e30 for nearly two years now, and intend on keeping it for ever if possible. it has a sunroof, which is showing signs of some bubbling around the weld/tray, however slightly away from the sunroof opening on the left side of the roof is rust bubbling. I am asking/wondering if others have had similar rust and the ways and methods used to cure it. Any help/advise, or suggestions of reputable body shops would be much appreciated, thanks

Drop the headlining. I can promise you it won't be pretty.

Difficult to repair, to do it properly it's a new roof which are NLA.

were are u ? ??. i know a e30 bodyshop thats good on that & they have a roof skin avail !

Any decent bodyshop could cut it out and repair. It might cost a fair bit as it's no small job to do properly but if you are keeping the car, it would be worth it.

I'd get some quotes and select the best place you find. Remember you get what you pay for so it's worth paying the premium for a proper job.

You need somewhere with excellent fabrication and welding skills, difficulty is stopping the roof warping when welding in the repair patch. Plus they'll be a lot more dramas going on underneath with the sunroof tray.

If the top has a bubble, then you can bet your bottom dollar it's rotten throughout underneath..
