Went to the garage today to check up the motor...looking like this...
after some paint....taken with my phone so not brilliant quality
The bumper and bonnet are going on tmrw to be sprayed so almost there. I have at times wished I had just sold the salvage after I had bought it back from the insurance co especially now since I have bought another car which is tempting me away from keeping it.

Would mean selling the m3. Wonder how much it be worth now it is cat D.

The nearest thing you can get to a modern day e30 m3...a M Coupe (the weird looking one) with AC Schnitzer bits. Its a beast of a car. I did buy it to sell but its kinda nice.

Am picking it up on Friday/Saturday. Will post pics.
Is lakeside this saturday?

Unfortunatley its not gonna be ready for a week. Have got a few things to do to it. As soon as it is I'll give you a shout. You'll definitely appreciate it even though its not an e30. I was quite surprised that it didn't have traction control. A real car then
I'll try an get down to lakeside though seen as i missed the last one!

Cheers Simon - its been a bit of a long process but its getting there. Hopefully see you there.
Karan - yeah the M coupe is going to the garage after the M3 comes out as it needs a new rear quarter plus its not going to be insured until it gets fixed as I'm still deciding which one to keep. I might have to take you up on that offer. I'll give you a call on Thursday/Friday. I hate being without a rear wheel drive car from germany!

i've not driven an e30 m3 but from my experience of the 2.8 z3 i'd say the m coupe is a damn good car! p.s. i think they didn't fit traction control because it was an extra throttle body which maybe didn't go on an s50 properly?? that was asc, if you get an s54 (2001 on i think) you will get traction control in the form of dsc

Good luck with the M3,
Oh and an M Coupe, i'm so jealous!
Me and Dave(touring) were talking about buying one of these just the other day.
A real hate it or love it car, and i love em!
This may not be the most tastefull M Coupe i've ever seen but it's still nice!
Regards, Jon

Yeah the s54 does come with DSC. The one I have got is the s50 version. Its is definitely a damn good car. Theres just something about the directness you get in the e30 m3 that modern cars don't seem to get. Saying that an extra 100horses and the looks are more than tempting.

thanks Jon. Pity I can't keep both huh?? now that would trully be greedy. I love them both. I had already ordered the Alpha N/carbon airbox for the e30 before the m coupe became available. Decisions decisions.

Dude - keep the M3 its a much classier car, it'll all make sense when you drive it again!! Seriously, when a car is off the road its hard to think of the positive, but then when its done it feels soooo much better!!
