Holding water under bonnet where battery would be ??

any one had any trouble with there e30 holding water where the battery would be under the bonnet ?? should there be a drain ?? or is the seal around bonnet leaking ?? any ideas its like a swimming pool!!

That's never happened to mine, sorry can't shed any light on it. Mine has a few rust holes for it to escape though!
