front bumber on my facelift 92 cab has probably never been removed. its a painted finish bumper in mint nick, i want to refresh the front valance and wax oil the front end with a copper slip reassembly.i have got the passenger side star bolt off easily with a bit of WD. the drivers side wont shift , even with a 1 meter bar on the ratchet.not a prayer. ive tried spraying a tin of WD up there but access to the bolt anchor point is limited. any tricks of the trade??

Give it a good smack to try and shock it. I would also give Plusgas a shot, I've found it far better than WD40 at loosening stuck bolts

As above smack in inwards a few times (shock treatment) Then try to remove with your bar, Also you could assemble a T bar and try to loosen and have a friend hit the end of the T bar with a nice hammer.

im trying both of those saturday. plusgas and shock. im not too happy thinking about the time and drill bits needed if it comes to a power tool.

The outer painted plastic cover is held onto the composite bumper beam by a number of plastic expanding rivets. It's possible to force the cover off by pulling it forwards, exposing the beam.
Once you've got to this stage, you can try unscrewing the big torx bolts that secure the beam to the mounts, but the nuts aren't captive, so will probably just spin - but worth a try.
The next stage is to try to reach the 13mm bolts holding the telescopic mounts to the front of the chassis rails. You might get a thin spanner onto them, but it's more than likely that the beam will require some surgery on its underside to gain access to them.
With the beam off, complete with telescopic mount, you can then get full access to the seized bolt that's causing the problem.
To put things back together, you will need to bring the bumper cover indoors, turn the central heating right up, and carefully unclip the black rubbing strips, before refitting the cover to the beam, replacing any of the expanding rivets that are damaged beyond use.

What the above says worked a treat for me......
Mine where so seized after removing the bumper cover bar and telescopic mounts I had to chop the bolt and the captive and weld on a new nut. I went back to hexagon head bolt after.
Don't forget the copper sllip on the bolt being refitted to help next time it's coming off on the bolt threads
