Recently bought first e30 318is also bought bc coilovers and in the instructions shows a "spindle" that's sapost to come from the original strut and inserted into the coilover then welded?.. I'm not to sure on what they mean as haven't worked on e30 before,, do I take out the strut complete out of the hub and insert the coilover and weld round or do I have to take piece of the original strut? Anyone do this before and if so any pictures? Cheers any help be appreciated

A 318iS will have 51mm struts.
Remove the damper from the strut housing, cut it down and weld on the body of the coilover. I believe you can remove the damper from the coilover body on BC's. Do that otherwise you will ruin the shock.
I'm sure someone will be along with pictures soon

I read it was a 45mm strut, do I just measure the size of the strut body itself to find out? I take it that's what they mean by 45mm?bcheers
