Is it worth getting a limited slip for everyday driving and if so what's a good ratio.
I've seen a few and wouldn't know what ratios are good for what.

I would say so. Bear in mind most are worn out these days in need of a refresh. My daily has a pretty savage diff in it and I love it.
3.91 is a good all round ratio, standard for Tech 2 sports

Ok. So I should aim at that mark.
What makes it more or less savage. 4.91 or 2.91

By savage I mean it's been machined and had extra plates for lock. It's apparently about 60% lock compared to a standard 25% and will drag the inside wheel on full lock in car parks etc.
A 4.91 would be far too short for road use. Don't even think there is an off the shelf 4.91 but it would be revving it's nuts off at 70. A 2.91 would be too tall for a Getrag box with an overdrive 5th gear, but would be OK for a ZF with a direct 1:1 5th

Higher number = more savage fuel consumption and acceleration and not so savage top end.
3.73 is an ideal compromise . 3.91 is a little busy at motorway speeds.

Thanks lads getting the drift, mind the pun. Oh noooo
I have auto switchable and not sure what the gears are but I know I have a 325.
I also know 3.73 sounds about as high as I wanna go.
I'll end up like one of them celebrity chefs or a footballer and find out what the central reservation looks like after pushing that little yellow button with the drifting car. Traction control I think they call it. Lol
