What is the panel of trim under the steering wheel called?

It came loose this morning and my foot was wedged stuck on the clutch pedal at a roundabout. After some stalling and kanagaroo hopping I made it to a side road, but had to rip it off in break it in the process

Cheers.

Expensive is what it's called ! Otherwise known as an under dash 'knee roll' . Several different variations, used between £25 -£75 . New £75 + £3 for all the correct clips . I bet you won't be so brutal next time ! :)

Sure I can remember under dash knee roll. Easier than some obscure Latin/medical/dinosaur name. Are the variations related to model/year?

Thanks for the link zd3bx very helpful.
