Hi,
I've just recently purchased an IS and was thinking of changing the steering rack as I found it far too sluggish! I've heard the z3 to be the best to put in, will any adaptations be needed for it to fit or any other that I can use that will have a difference?
Also what else with the steering rack will I need to get?
It's hopefully my project over the winter and more than likely next haha! Any other advice on potential modifications to the car would be greatly recieved!
Cheers

The z3 rack is the fastest, but most consider the purple tag e46 rack a better option.
You can use e30 power steering hoses and bend them to suit but I recommend buying pre-made hoses off the zoner DanThe, excellent quality and fit. You will also need some spacers for the rack, and either modify the existing linkage, use a Corsa linkage or Dan also sells a splined shaft, which you use along with 2 e34 steering UJ's. Have a read through the Wiki to familiarise yourself:
