What is the best thing to use to clean black headlining? And has anyone ever fitted remote central locking or had it fitted? A place near me will do it for £120 but don't know how good it's going to be

If you mean add remote locking to existing standard central locking, then it's an easy DIY job that's been covered on here many times, both by me and others, and is probably covered in the wiki.
"Rightclick" is the company to search for, and all the required connections for the system are behind the glovebox area.

Would it be this one? How long do you think it would take to fit? Are they fairly plug and play or do wires need to be cut?

cleaned mine with autoglym leather and interior cleaner....
no good, could clearly see it left residue, had to clean it all off with a wet micro fibre.

The best result on my headlining I got was from a handheld steam cleaner.. the household type you buy from Sainsburys for a score.

I cleaned my black headlining with a vax vacuum in 'wet wash' mode, you could use an ordinary wet vac and a hand held water spray bottle filled with a weak solution of clothes washing detergent and water to wet the headlining.

That's the one, although the same unit is available with several different styles of remote fob, some of which come complete with a blank E30 style key blank, which you can have cut to suit your car. I've fitted a few over the years, and have never had a problem, other than the remote range can be a bit excessive, resulting in the locked car outside unlocking if you accidentally press the button while indoors.Sambe30 wrote:http://www.rclick.co.uk/product_info.ph ... ts_id=1132

Fitting involves connecting five wires (lock, unlock, LH indicator or side light, RH indicator or sidelight and 12 volts live) to existing wires behind the glovebox, plus an earth wire to the earthing stud in the same area - a couple of hours work.
