Purely a boasting thread, but I just got my electric windows and mirrors working on my car. The mirrors haven't worked in the six years I've had it, so it's a real joy to hear them grinding away :D

The C404 plug in the A-pillar was properly corroded, and after splitting the plug it turned out that a couple of the pins had snapped right off in a puff of blue coppery powder. Spent an hour with some new pliers crimping new pins on, plugged it in and everything worked! No more opening doors to get my ticket at the multi-storey car park...

Proper chuffed :D

All the wiring colours matched perfectly, although the C404 and 405 are swapped for me since the car is LHD. But it really is a doddle, and no soldering required.

Pins aren't exactly cheap though; 15 quid for 25.

were the pins from bmw? I'm sure when I priced up replacing the plug, socket and pins on both doors it was about £140 so I decided not to bother as my windows and mirrors still work despite the state of the corroded pins :)
