BMW E30 body length from Wikipedia:
1988-89 Sedan & Wagon: 4,450 mm
1990-91 Sedan & Wagon: 4,326 mm
I have always liked 4 door E30s more than 2 doors because 4 doors somehow looks longer even if they have the same length. Maybe I have always compared a 4 door 1989 with a 2 door 1990, hence the visual length difference.
From 1990 and forward, E30s are 12 cm shorter than the previous models, what's the reason for this?
Why are 90's E30 shorter than 89's?

Must be a mistake, I could understand it if it was between pre-facelift and facelift cars as the bumpers are different

The wiki was written by a septic tank and their pre-facelifts had diving board bumpers.
Everyone else had unmolested pre-facelift cars.

Earliest E36s were 1990 I think, could they be referring to that?
