Boggy Chords AKA HT lead or spark plug cables. I have tiried most of this but this not starting I changed the ECU no help can any tell me what courses a weak spark even when I change both the coil and the plugs

Check the engine-to-body earth strap, and all connections within the ignition system that lead to the ignition coil.

You could also try directly connecting the '+' terminal of the ignition coil direct to battery '+', then spinning the engine over.

After all that work anything could be wrong with it, which may or may not include whatever was wrong originally. This is why you should never change a component without proving it is faulty first.
However, you now have to start from where you are, so the first checks, as ever, are 1) do you get sparks at the plugs when the engine is cranked? and 2) does the fuel pump spring into life when the engine is cranked?

Which "black box" did you change? :?

Also, is the new engine from the same age of car, or a pre-facelift (chrome bumper) 320i?

put direct 12v to the fuel pump so you know it's pumping then crank it

Get a compression gauge and run a compression test on the engine - all six pots should read at least 180psi or so.

Try a squirt or two of brake/clutch cleaner down the throttle body whilst cranking it over.
