I had to change a wheel at the side of the road yesterday. The standard jack is all a bit dodgy. It takes five years to wind up and does not seem too steady. It is like playing a big metallic green hurdy gurdy. I always use my trolley jack at home, but I dont fancy carrying this around in the boot. Anyone found a better option? I thought about a decent aftermarket pneumatic bottle jack.

Supplied jack may have to be operated by a 7 stone weakling,so needs to be low enough geared!
If the thing is located correctly on the re-enforced cill lip,and the supplied wheel chock is used,it is perfectly safe for it's purpose.
But yes,I too use a small trolley jack when working on the car.

I still find myself biting at my finger nails whilst jacking up a car.

As above,I've had two E36 jacks collapse on me admittedly I didn't use the chocks on one occasion

I ditched the factory jack and currently haul this thing along. It happens to be the cheapest piece of rubbish jack available and weights a ton but it's the only one that comes in a case. A small decent lightweight aluminium version in a case would've been nice but couln't find one!

A bottle jack like this won't fit under the car..

Was thinking of changing to this electricly powered jack with impact wrench and case
Works on the cigarette lighter.

Or without impact wrench..
