Hi guys not clued up on this car
Basically I've got this 1983 320 coupe with Recaros as I'm told, I'm the second owner from new, sinse 2009 it hasn't seen the light of day, I've got it going after a new battery and fuel and an mot and it's now my prize possession, however sinse the mot it now runs like a sack of spuds intermittently. Sometimes irratic idle, sometimes not, more often now, slow to fire on start up and occasionally has a misfire on start up and won't rev up but if you turn it off and back on it goes away, anything obvious to you gurus? I love this car it's on 94k from new and I really want to bring it back to it's former glory

Sounds like something simple like the Throttle position switch or Idle valve not plugged in

Have you checked all round the engine bay to make sure everything i connected till

The throtle switch is under the throttle body, bit of a reach under

Do you know if your MOT tester "tweaked" anything ??

No I was there for the test, I'll have a look for it, just getting very irritating and embarrassing when it won't start

Iv had similar problems in the past, it turned out to the mass air flow.

IIRC these have the water controlled idle valve which is notoriously sh!te. :(
