Now my car resides in Guernsey and there are hardly any street lights, I thought I'd sort out my terrible headlights.
Has anyone got a guide of how to rebuild these (facelift Convertible smileys) and what parts I'd need? I know the adjusters are gone!!

Most likely the reflector has melted around the bulb, so the only solution is replace the whole reflecting part of the unit (not the lens or the glass, but the chrome-plated cone bit). This is only held on with three screws per light, and is interchangeable with E34 parts. The part number is listed on the back, but I have no idea where you'd get some; I had my lights redone professionally and that's the bit they replaced.
As for the adjusters; just use RealOEM to buy the plastic clips, and get new long screws if you think you need them. Get extra clips as even new ones break when being fitted.
All in all it cost me just over 200 quid to bring my lights back to optimum condition.
