E30 M3 battery

I have a friend who needs a new battery for his E30 M3. He would like a bosch one as I am working near a euro car parts store today and can pick it up for him. Trouble is the website throws up a few bosch batteries for the M3, s3,4,5....
Anybody know which is the correct one? I'm not near my car to check, it has a bosch battery fitted

Just get one from BMW, anything other than OE on a road car is generally frowned up on.

Oh and its a 65Ah battery you want

Cheers, he's just decided to go for a bmw one from the dealer, 2yr warranty as opposed to 3yr for the bosch at ECP but only £2 difference in price.

Re the OE one. Just hope you never have to do a warranty claim on it

OE ones do last though. I was working on a '99 E46 328i the other week which had done over 200k miles and was still on the original date stamped genuine BMW battery.

The high mileage is partly why its lasted.

Yes, but there are batteries made 12 years ago and ones made now.

I have two or three 15 year old big BMW ones knocking about for jump start action.

I bought a Bosch s4 from ecp. Can't go wrong at about £60 and 4 year warranty. OE on a battery is little too anal even for me.

I agree, I've had a bosch silver on my '63 VW bus for over 10 years and it's still going despite being used sporadically and never conditioned or looked after. My T5 VW workvan has one too going on for that age.

I seem to remember you have to be carefull with battery height as for fitting the battery cover correctly
