im thinking of using a sport map light rear veiw mirror to replace the current standard one on my cabby. ive seen this done before on custom cabs.wired into the courtesy light thats in the header rail, my question is; the mount for the sport/m3 which has a rubber shock mount incorporated essential to stop vibration with this heavier mirror body? or will ot work 95% as well, i can put up with a little wobble at low revs but i dont want to keep retrieving it from the footwell of a well used daily.

I have this fitted to my cab no noticeable noise and I had it fitted for over a year but just the other day the whole thing fell off the screen including the round mount but I did have bits hanging on the mirror weighing it down

ive had problems attaching just the standard mirror before. i carefully cleaned and prepped both surfaces with spirit. ive just bought some "loctite rear veiw mirror adhesive" as BMW are rumoured to use this. the extra weight does worry me. the little round nipple mount might be better getting fitted at a windscreen specialist.

I think it should be fine just fit the round metal mount on the mirror first let it dry then clip in the mirror.
I had beads, air freshners and more hanging off the mirror(don't ask why) and it lasted a year
