Ok guys, I need some help.
I tried to order a Retarding Relay (13.90 1 311 772) from BMW NA via my dealer. Argh.
Or is there another duplicate copy you can use?
Anybody out there have a spare?

No idea what it's for, but an ETK search shows that it was fitted to South African spec. E30s only, except for the 320i, 324d and M3, where it was fitted to some European and Japanese models as well.
Further investigating via the ETK shows it to be a normally closed single pole relay, if the accompanying circuit diagram is accurate. This should be replaceable by the blue relay, found under the glovebox (RH drive) in UK E30s that allows the windows and roof to work with a front door open.
This relay has the same four pins as the obsolete relay, in the correct places, but has a fifth pin (87) which should fit into an empty socket (check this!) on the relay base.
Part number of this relay is 61 36 1 388 911, and a second hand one should be fine.
