Good afternoon everybody.
Last week I took a long drive in the old girl from London to Preston. It was a good drive all in all.
A friend was in his e46 and I was in the old 318iS. Anyway on our way up we were in between 80mph to 90mph all the way up and back down.
The old girl pulls like a train if I must say so myself.
A few days later I notices a loudish sound coming from the zurst. So I took it to my local garage and up on the ramp to only see that there is a small hole appearing.
It is repairable however the condition of the whole zurst is not so great. I have been advised to change the lot and save myself the headache.
I would like a twin pipe look at the rear if im honest. Nothing loud or shiny or fancy but just something which purrs away nicely and when over 4k in a tunnel will wake up the little birds tucked away in the steel up top.
Is there any recommendations out here?
I am not looking for chary loudness just something smooth and loud when driving over 4k in any gear. The once in a blue moon hard drive.
Thanks in advanced
Jono

I've struggled to find anything for the M42 in the UK, I guess as the 318iS was only sold for a short time here. From memory, Supersprint and Jetex offer an iS exhaust but I have no idea what they are like. Of course there's always BMW.
Mine is currently using an iS centre section and a 325i backbox connected by a Y-piece. It isn't pretty, but it does the job and doesn't sound bad.

The Empire of Zurst is a colossal, efficient nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies, compulsory military service, and keen interest in outer space. The compassionate, hard-working, devout population of 7.461 billion Zurstians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
Sounds like your type of place?

I struggled to find an exhaust back box for my old IS and went with a scorpion mid and back section in the end..
That had a nice tone to it, not too loud but loud enough when planting your right foot!
Id recommend it!

Now the question is where would I need to go to get this? Garages..? shops? or online ?
and
How much did it all cost parts and labour ?
Where did you all get it installed from?

My backbox on the iS has been knackered for ages now and i thought it was the right time to replace it with something with a bit more of a deep note..So I picked up a Scorpion DTM from BakedBean100 the other day and fitted it to the iS and what a difference it has made to the noise!![]()
Its not boyracer loud at all just the nice Deep note i was looking for!
I know it wont be to everyones taste but i really couldnt care lessMy car my way...

It's not cheap for the front section new!
I recently bought a 2nd hand powerflow as replacements are thin on the ground and spare cash is becoming an issue....
If I was to go new I'd go with the jetex.... It's around 200 quid tho and is rear box and center.
I've got a link somewhere...

I wanted a jetex full system for 320/325, although lots of places still have it as 'available', jetex have actually stopped making it. If anyone is planning a new jetex I would find out first if it is still being made or in stock.slideout318i20 wrote:It's not cheap for the front section new!

That's the Jetex one I've seen, but I was never keen on the tailpipe design.

i had this magnum super sprint at one stage ...it was surprisingly quiet and a bit disappointing in the decibel department but it looked good and fitted good .
