Can anyone recommend an exhaust system, thinking stainless steel. Not racy, just oe replacement for 318.
I've heard of longlife exhausts but no previous experience of them.
Put a cheapy on from euro car on a previous one and regretted it, so so tinny.

The Eberspacher exhausts from ECP are good (Eberspacher are an OE supplier) though I've never looked if they supply them for 4 pot cars.
The BMW exhausts are excellent but it all depends on how long you're planning on keeping the car. Yes, they're expensive but my original one lasted the best part of 20 years. In comparison, my Dad's old Peugeot 306 had 3 rear silencers in its first 8 years!

Anyone know how accurate the drawings are on RealOEM?
I've discovered it's just the back box that's blowing so looking to replace that with a genuine one, but from looking under the car it's slightly different to this:

The pictures aren't always accurate. How is it different?

Reasonably accurate provided the correct part is shown.
Sometimes model variations/running changes are not shown so only a generic part is show for all models.
If the drawing shows the correct part then the features of that part are normally pretty close to reality.

Most likely the back box on there is non Genuine. It's just I need to replace it and I'm a tad concerned I'll but one and it not fit.
It's the mounting brackets, the union between downpipe, looks more like a flat flange on that picture, but mine is like a clamp. And the bracket (13) looks different, it's a rod/hook type thing welded on.
Wish I'd taken some pics while I was down there now. Sure it's be fine though.
Just need to decide on Genuine back box from Costwold BMW for about £265 for me to fit myself, or a Longlife Stainless Steel one for £300 fitted. Kind of think the Longlife one is a no brainer as I've seen how rusty the clamps are and fitting an exhaust is always a ball ache.
Can't really afford either right now but I suppose that's what Credit is for
The other option is find a cheaper alternative, but I've done that in the past and regretted it.
Thanks for you comments.
