Well I've bitten the bullet & bought a set. Not the brand new ones I was looking at last year (£1441 for 4 rims & caps) but the best second hand ones I could find.
They're good but I want perfect, so going to send them to Lepsons for full refurb, will get them to put new tyres on, balance etc, so should be as new when they come back (free courier service there & back at the moment)
The question: Colour?
It will be silver, but which one, I want them to look OEM & Lepsons have quite a few......flat silver, straight silver, AWI silver, bright sparkle silver, in their standard range.
What do you think?
My perfect original bottletops with brand new Continentals will be kept to maintain originality if ever needed.
Cheers

IIRC the correct colour for BBS is polaris silver, I would think that's just straight silver?

What do you think about having the rims diamond cut and polished, would it look too "Chav", or not original enough.
Now's the time to do it. Views most welcome.

So, what did you tell them about the silver finish you wanted?
I'd say diamond cut looks a bit naff

We have wheels done by lepsons on a weekly basis and BMW wheels are always done in their straight silver.

Thanks. What's your view on the diamond cut, have you seen any in the flesh.bss325i wrote:We have wheels done by lepsons on a weekly basis and BMW wheels are always done in their straight silver.

Yes looks good enough but then you are encroaching into modified territory.

Exactly. And on a low mileage nice original car like minesapint's, it detracts from it.Gert_8 wrote:It's not OEM.minesapint wrote:What are the implications of that?bss325i wrote:Yes looks good enough but then you are encroaching into modified territory.

Ok thanks guys, I'll take your advice and no diamond cut. Will go with straight silver also.bss325i wrote:Exactly. And on a low mileage nice original car like minesapint's, it detracts from it.Gert_8 wrote:It's not OEM.minesapint wrote: What are the implications of that?
Thinking of Continentals for rubber, any views on these? Or any other considerations.
